Mapley Baked Beans

3 Slices bacon, chopped
1 Small onion, chopped
2 Cans (16 Oz. each) pork and beans
½ Cup maple syrup (pancake)
2 TBSP. catsup
1 TBSP. mustard
½ tsp.. hot pepper sauce (optional)

Heat oven to 400°.

Cook and stir bacon and onion in medium skillet on medium heat until bacon is crisp and onion is tender. Drain bacon drippings.

Pour beans into 1½-quart casserole. Stir in bacon and onion, syrup, catsup, mustard and pepper sauce until well mixed. Bake 45—50 minutes or until beans are hot and bubbly.

Makes 4 cups or 8 servings.
